How To Treat Dark Circles And Eyebags

Dark circles are quite common and may start showing naturally as you age reason being there we grow older, our skin tends to lose out collagen.

Collagen helps to maintain the quality of skin. But, if you are bothered by their appearance and don’t feel confident with looking like a panda. So, be sure to stick by.

What causes dark circles?

Dark circles are caused due to variety of reasons, it can be your lifestyle, age or due to underlying health conditions.

But, also note dark circles are not restricted to age.

Yeah, you can still get dark circles due to lot of factors.

What Commonly Causes Dark Circles?

#1. Lack Of Sleep / Poor Sleep Schedule

#2. Fatigue / Restlessness

#3. Depression

#4. Dehydration

#5. Genetics

#6. Thyroid

If you have a healthy lifestyle and proper sleep schedule too, chances are you may have some underlying health issues that’s causing you dark circles. Getting your blood tested is really important to check if this is the cause for your dark circles.

#7. Touching Or Rubbing The Eyes Pretty Often

Since, the area of skin around our eyes are a lot thinner than the rest of our face. Excess of fiction around them causes dark circles.

#8. Lack Of Iron

#10. Too Much Exposure In Sun

Lots of sun exposure can cause your dark circles to darken even further, as we know that the skin around our eyes is pretty thin. So, it needs the extra amount of protection from the sunlight.

My personal favorite method is applying the sunscreen twice under the eye aka highlighter method. Or, you can use eye products that already contain spf in it and use it along with your sunscreen.

Highlighter Method

• Step 1- apply the sunscreen on your face like you would normally do and wait for 30 mins.

• Step 2- apply the sunscreen only under your eye area .

Wonderful Ways To Treat Dark Circles

#1. Get Plenty Of Sleep

Make sure you are sleeping at least 7 to 8 hours a day, every single day. Lack of sleep not only causes you fatigue and restlessness but also makes you look like a panda. So, you are someone who procrastinates till 6am in the morning and doesn’t sleep, you are ought to look like a panda. So fix your sleeping schedule and make a habit to sleep everyday at a particular time.

#2. Use Retinoids If You Have Dark Circles Due To Thin Skin

Using a eye-cream with retinol helps with thickening your skin.

Since, retinoids boosts the production of collagen. Collagen helps to maintain the elasticity and quality of the skin.

Use it every single day or alternate days a week.

#3. Use Lightening Cream And Sunscreen, If You Have Dark Circles Because You Are Prone To Hyperpigmentation

Using products which contain kojic acid, licorice extracts or vitamin C helps to lighten the dark circles. Make sure to never skip on sunscreen since these products increases sensitivity of the skin.

#4. Ice Roller / Freeze Some Tea Bags

It helps to awaken your eyes and depuffs the under eyebags to reduce the appearance.

#5. Gua Sha And Jade Roller

Learn how to use these to improve the lymphatic drainage from your face and undereyes.

#6. Hydrate Yourself

In every single article, i have told you to level up hydration game. So, just do it already. Drink at 6 glasses a day just do the bare minimum already please.

Having a healthy lifestyle and eating habits does loads of wonder to your internally and externally and makes you look extremely healthy and fresh all the time.

We all want to look our best, so it is pretty understandable to be frustrated by dark circles. So, I recommend understanding the root of cause for your dark circles and make necessary changes to improve it. And always remember to have patience and be kind to yourself. And stick to any one cream and use a ice roller to soothe your skin.
