We all dream of having long, luscious locks, don’t we? But sometimes, achieving that dream can seem a bit challenging. That’s why we’re focusing on easy and effective two-ingredient hair growth oil recipes in this blog post. Now, you might have seen endless of diys that contain many ingredients while you can do that, there’s no harm in that. But, two ingredients hair growth oil works perfectly too. Not only, it is not much stress in our pocket but making it super easy and most of the ingredients are something which is already available to you in the kitchen. The thing I love about 2 ingredient hair growth oil since, it’s easy to make it gives me extra motivation to stay consistent with following my hair care routine.

The Importance of Natural Oils for Hair Growth

Now, you might be wondering, why natural oils? Well, natural oils are packed with nutrients that nourish our hair and stimulate hair growth. Plus, making your own DIY hair growth oil recipes means you know exactly what’s going into your hair, because often times our store bought hair oil contains mineral oil in them which is a literal no-no for hair. So, that’s why we make our own oil. No hidden chemicals, no harmful substances – just pure, natural goodness.

Understanding Your Hair Type

I feel this is the biggest reason you should start making your own diy hair oils. Because you know your hair and it’s concerns best and you can make oils accordingly to target those concerns. Most of the time, we use hair oils that are not for us like for example: using castor oil in oily scalp with thin fine hair (mostly low porosity hair) and let me tell you using the wrong products will definitely get you nowhere. Instead, you’ll end up with worst situations than you started with.

So, certainly making our own Diy Hair Oil has it’s own advantage. Plus, you will know that it’s waste of your money, efforts and time because we’ll be doing things with knowledge at our site.💪🏻

1. Coconut Oil + Curry Leaves

Starting with curry leaves, they’re not just great for adding a kick to your dishes; Packed with vitamins A, C, E, and B, and antioxidants these leaves can help reduce hair fall, speed up hair growth and maintain a clean healthy scalp ( Helps to lose up those flakes). They’re also believed to restore strength to the hair shafts and prevent thinning. The best part? They’re super easy to find and won’t break the bank.

Coconut oil is a classic go to for a reason. It hydrates your hair, adds moisture, shine and brings those straw like strands back to life. While, this oil is suitable for medium and high porosity hair due to it moderately heavy weight. It is not recommended for low porosity hair ( thin fine hair) But, You can go for fractionated coconut oil, this way you are getting everything a coconut oil gives minus the greasiness and trust me coconut oil provides a lot.

If you don’t know what a fractinated coconut oil is? It is basically a light weight version of coconut oil, it is very safe and suitable to apply on your skin, oily scalp and you can rest assured that it is not going to clog your pores or give you unnecessary troubles such as acne. It’s comedogenic index is 0.

It’s one of the best carrier oils for low porosity hair when it comes to diy hair oils.

Now, how to prepare this concoction? Simply take 1 cup of coconut oil and heat it in double boiler method in medium flame.

Let it get heated for 5 minutes after that add 1/4 cup of curry leaves if you have them or 2 Tbsp of Curry powder. At this point, turn the flame low, let the leaves start sizzling until they’re crisp.

Turn off the heat, I personally like to let it cool there only for 2 hours. Then strain and store it. For me, this recipe lasts for 1 months of use that is 4 week 2-3 times a week, store it away from sunlight. Be consistent apply on you bald spots and massage, you will definitely get results.

2. Jojoba Oil + Rosemary

We have all seen jojoba oil used in a lot of the beauty products be it hair oils, moisturizers and so on. The reason why this oil is so hit in beauty industry because it’s not here to disappoint. We are using jojoba oil because it’s lightweight, super similar to the natural oils our scalp generates. It balances our scalp nicely, very well tolerable for oily scalp and low porosity hair. Packed in vitamin C, B, E, copper and zinc which are excellent for stimulating hair growth and then we pair it with rosemary essential oil also very suitable for preventing hair loss, hair thinning and promoting hair growth.

This combo is basically a Match made in Hair Haven. I am sure you’ll love it. It’s simple to make just add 4 Tbsps of Jojoba Oil with 12-15 Drops of Rosemary Essential Oil and you are sorted.

3. Olive Oil + Ginger Juice

Olive oil, oh where do I start? It’s like the best friend your hair didn’t know it needed. It’s packed with moisturizing ingredients like squalene and oleic acid, which are super hydrating. It’s also rich in antioxidants and fatty acids that can help make your hair feel softer and reduce frizz. Think of it as a liquid hug for your hair strands, keeping them strong and preventing those pesky split ends.

Now, let’s spice things up with ginger juice. This zesty root is not just for your sushi; it’s a powerhouse for your scalp! Ginger is loaded with antioxidants, antimicrobial, and antifungal properties, which means it’s great for soothing scalp irritation and keeping dandruff in check. Plus, it’s believed to stimulate blood circulation to the scalp, which could encourage those follicles to grow, grow, grow.

Mixing these two together? The olive oil acts as a smooth, moisturizing base, while the ginger juice brings in that invigorating kick that could help boost hair health and growth.

Remember though, everyone’s hair is different, so what works for one person might not work for another. It’s always good to do a patch test first to make sure your scalp is as excited about this concoction as you are.

4. Cloves + Coconut Oil

If you want hair like a mermaid. Make this DIY your spicy little secret for growing those bald spots and Hair. If you have been researching to grow your hair for some time now, chances are you have definitely seen using cloves to grow new hair on your suggestions. And let me tell you, They are not lying.

Cloves stimulates hair growth by improving the blood flow to your scalp and it gets better because it also helps to maintain healthy scalp due to it’s antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Which means no flakey business when you are using this concoction. And, Do i really need to talk more about Coconut oil?

Just add 2 tablespoons of Grounded Cloves to 1/2 Cup of Coconut Oil. Use double boiler method to infuse it for 15 mins and there you go.

5. Castor Oil + Onion Juice

Castor oil and Onion juice. Sounds intriguing, right? Let’s break down why this pair could be the MVPs for your mane.

First up, castor oil. This thick, viscous oil is like the guardian of hair health. It’s known for its moisturizing properties, thanks to the ricinoleic acid it contains, which is a type of fatty acid that fights inflammation. While there’s no solid scientific evidence to back up all the claims, many believe castor oil can boost blood flow to the scalp, promoting healthier hair, and even increase hair growth. While, this oil may not be suitable for everyone’s scalp or hair type but you can dilute it with olive oil or coconut oil and it’ll still be effective. I totally recommend this oil for my curly haired type 4C Ladies, i swear you won’t regret it.

Now, let’s add a dash of onion juice to the mix. Onion juice might bring tears to your eyes when chopping it up for dinner, but it could also bring a smile to your face when you see what it can do for your hair. It’s chock-full of sulfur, which is essential for the regeneration of hair follicles, and it has antibacterial properties that can battle scalp infections. Some folks also swear by its ability to minimize hair fall, hair thinning and breakage.

Just mix Equal parts of each ingredient and you are done. I like to make it fresh everytime i want to apply this oil. Because onion juice should be used fresh to be very effective and it’s worth it taking the extra effort due to the gorgeous results it provides with.

6. Sweet Almond Oil + Amla Juice

Talk about a killer combo. Sweet Almond oil is lightweight, full of nutrients omega 9 fatty acids and vitamin e which is so bomb for great shiny and smooth hair. These are the nutrients that you should also consume internally to support that healthy hair growth. So, babes include almonds on your diet as well and watch your hair grow. So, if you’re looking for something to help your hair stay strong and healthy, almond oil is a great choice.

Now, we healthy hair we focus on hair growth too. And, Amla is the way to go, rich in vitamin C that helps the scalp in producing collagen ( btw, very essential for hair growth). Amla also helps to preserve natural hair color for a much longer time too. And, let’s not forget about it’s ability to keep the scalp clean and healthy meaning no more dandruff.

Here’s a quick DIY recipe: Mix 4 Teaspoons of Amla Powder with 6 tablespoons of Almond Oil and let it infuse in double boiler for 15 mins on low heat.

7. Avocado Oil + Peppermint Essential Oil

We all know that avocado is really good for our hair health, apply it, consume it or use it’s avocado. Avocado is known to provide nourishment and shine to our hairs for ages. Avocado oil is all types of porosity hair friendly. Pair it with peppermint essential oil and you have got a nuturing treatment for your hair that is so good for hair growth and overall hair lengths.

Diy: For every tablespoon of oil, we use 3-6 drops of peppermint essential oil depending on your scalp health. 3 drops is great for sensitive scalp.

8. Moringa + Castor Oil ( for low porosity hair use Pomegranate oil as base)

Moringa powder is like the green machine of hair care. It combats dandruff and promotes healthy new growth, which is music to the ears for anyone trying to grow out their mane. Plus, it’s packed with vitamins A, B, C, and other nutrients that are great for your hair when applied topically.

Castor oil is the old-school remedy that’s still a hit for a reason. It’s believed to increase blood flow to the scalp, which can promote healthier hair, and it’s also known for its moisturizing properties. Again, it is a thicker oil so you should dilute it with other oils to not overwhelm your scalp and hair.

For my low porosity hair ladies, use Pomegranate Oil as a substitute. Trust me, it is lightweight and truly helps to increase blood circulation to our scalp thereby promoting hair growth.

Gently heat 1.5 Teaspoons of moringa powder with 1 tablespoons of these oils. And, watch your hair grow like crazy.

9. Sesame Oil + Hibiscus Petals

Sesame oil is brimming with omega fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamin E, all of which are like the life-giving nutrients that keep the garden of your hair flourishing.

Hibiscus petals, on the other hand, are not just pretty flowers. they’re a banquet for your hair, too. Packed with vitamins and amino acids, these petals are like a natural hair tonic, promoting thicker strands and encouraging growth.

Infuse handful of petals/ powder on your oil. Heat the mixture and there you go.

10. Mustard Oil + Fenugreek Seeds

Now, let’s sprinkle in the magic of black seeds. These tiny seeds are derived from Nigella sativa, a plant that has been valued in various ancient cultures for its medicinal properties. 

Black seed oil is rich in thymoquinone, an antioxidant that can help reduce scalp inflammation and promote hair growth. It’s also been shown to combat hair fall and even fight against certain types of hair thinning.

To blend argan oil with black seeds for hair care, start by grinding the black seeds into a fine powder. Mix this powder with argan oil in a 1:5 ratio of seeds to oil. Let the mixture sit in a warm place for about two weeks to infuse, then strain and use.
